26th January 2011 - Republic Day

26th Jan 1950 the Indian Republic was formally recognised and the constitution accepted. Net result is an Indian Bank Holiday which was nice to have mid week, downside was that there was a great deal of celebrating going on late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning with music, parades and salute of the flag etc. Max had to get to school for 7.30am for his school's flag ceremony. It only lasted til 9am at which point he came home for the rest of the day.
