01/11/19 Lama Guan to Ghyangsang

Shortest trek of the whole expedition today, Snakeville to Banana Town.
Ghyangsang apartently means banana, or something like that, so it especially disappointing to walk into this one horse hamlet and there being no bananas. I am amazed that Rickets isn't more prevalent, I've had one apple in 3 weeks!

We also saw the first vehicle in almost 3 weeks today. As we reached the top of a steep climb we entered a little village with loads of people and a couple of 4x4s running a taxi service. Assume this is a meeting point for many of the villages that are either cut off by landslide or are only accessible by footpath. Tomorrow we get to see where the road goes for ourselves.

At dinner a few of the team opted to try Yak meat. They definitely haven't learnt that ordering a side of any meat in Nepal means you are going to get a bowl of bones and gristle.

The hostel is busy tonight, I was just getting into bed when one of the volunteers came down and told me that a random man was sleeping on a bed in the same room as the girls. Back out of bed and sorted out the interloper who shuffled off to find another place to stay.

In fact the hostel is so busy that there is no room for the guides so they have pitched tent on the toilet roof.

Another practice Casevac training planned for tomorrow, Catherine had a great idea to do it as we are packing up rather than whilst trekking. My idea was to use one of the guides for added excitement as the volunteers always assume its one of us who'll play tbe part.
