Feels like a lifetime waiting to start work, technical session should have been yesterday PM, then this morning and now 'after Dal Bhat'.
Spent the morning teaching the kids how to safely use a pick and shovel plus using the 3 from the group who had been in a Community in the 1st phase to tell the others what they did.
10.30am the project partner's techical guy turned up on the back of a motorcycle.
The long awaited techical session consisted of pointing at the line for the trench.
Group divided into 2 teams, 20 mins on 20 mins off....but not before having to draw numbers to see if we were odd or even. I have to bite my tongue. Why wait 10 mins for 16 pieces of paper to be written on, folded, handed out and then a coin toss to see whether odds or evens go first....
A solid 3 hour dig results in about 20m of trench, soil and rock grading and levelling the a section of roadway. Not a bad afternoon.
Back home for 4pm, time for a cold bucket shower, change and sit down before evening Dal Bhat.
