26/11/19 Sertung to Challise

Started the day at 5am, very cold overnight barely above freezing sleeping in a very open barn. I'd got up for a wee and stayed outside to take a picture of the dawn, the mountains blacked out with the light sky and moon still visable.

Very short walk today only took about 45 minutes to get to Challis. Felt a bit of an anticlimax as it was all downhill so barely warmed up before we stopped again and set camp.

Early Dal Bhat. Dirty dishes left at the waterstand and the chickens decend eating up the leftovers, stepping all over the plates! Maybe our resilience is getting better as the dishes only get washed by hand with water.

After lunch we went further down the valley to the river for a swim.
Slight miscommunication in the team saw a slight split down at the water although the situation was quickly resolved with a regroup.

The river is raging, so looking for a quieter section took some time. The guides found a possible spot although I'd spotted a good pool which was well away from the rapids.

We quickly regrouped again and then started to undress and get into the freezing water. So refreshing although verging on the hypothermic side of refreshing!  No matter as the large rocks on the rivers edge were perfect radiators to warm up on and dry our wet clothes. The girls do really well considering they have to wear sarongs to fully cover up.

Catherine had a haircut at the waterside from Alisha, pretty good result considering it was Alisha's first try.
