19/11/19 Tawal - Rest day

Rest day.

So good to not be carrying a 20kg backpack up and down the near vertical mountains and not pouring with sweat, drinking 5 litres of water a day and bearly peeing!

Chance for a longer sleep. No such luck still awake at 5am. At least the layin was good.

6am washing all of my dirty smelly clothes at the tapstand below the barn we are staying in. It was already hot although the sun wasn't fully up.

Animal death toll in the barn now stands at 3 mice, an injured cricket and a spider.

The community we are staying in is largely Christian so a suggestion to visit the church was agreed. As we approached we heard lively music and singing so popped in to have a look. 2 hours later the service ended bit not before the pastor had invited me onto the stage to explain to the community what we were all doing in Napal. According to the group I did well, they kindly videoed me for prosperity!

Lunch was beef Mo:Mo, little steamed parcels of beef with onions and seasoning plus a dipping sauce made of chilli, tomato, onion, garlic, ginger, sesame seeds and salt. Very tasty even though it broke my vegetarian diet....my body reminding me later what a bad idea it had been.

Decided to miss out on dinner (Dal Bhat) just to ensure I was fit to Trek again tomorrow.

Sounds like the start of the Tihal festival in the community so hopefully we'll all be able to sleep.
